Message	with one lane for each direction of traffic? Did it have a solid yellow (or double yellow) line? I'm not saying your friend deserves what happened, but can you see how he stacked the deck against him if he passed her illegally? On the other hand, if it was a legal pass then he's at the mercy of the court to try and have his statement stand up against hers. Additionally, the other driver will also have to appear (presuming he got a similar citation). One would think that two people against one in the court should prevail, but that's a tough call....
